Slim wire cross

This is another wire cross. It's not complex, and takes not much time.


The internet was out of service for days. It's rare but it did happen.

Line design

This is not the final result.
It's actually a casual one.
The wire craft is needed to be strengthen, just like any other.
The two ends are left unfinished, for what the line design needs is to be soldered.

The metal of this piece of wire is not for soldering, so you can say it's just a practice of line design.

Around the bead part 4

This one was designed to be hemispheric at the beginning. But it looks not good and strange. So I changed my mind in the middle of making. That doesn't mean that I will not make a hemispherical "around the bead". It just needs some change or to replace the major bead. Quite often, when I get an idea, I think that's great in the mind. After making it out, reality tells the gap and lets me know my idea is not that good. These are just small crafts, it's not hard to change when things are not the same as imagination in the mind. Keep trying, keep finding.

 

The wire dog

"If you want to make an idea into a real thing, set everything else aside and focus on that."

After postponing some time, I decided to make it out the day before. Put other things aside and form this wire dog.

It's not the same in my imagination.
The dog I want should be other kind.
I think one of the problem is the big eyes.

Vine

This is a trying. This vine is an unsatisfying work.
All the good and the bad are the dots to be recorded.

Many years ago, my friend asked me to go to visit his friend's college in Paris. The arts college is not big, many students have their own workplace. His friend is an painter. I went with no goal. Just go and see. I walked around the small arts college and saw the works of artists. Almost all the workplaces were open. I saw a Japanese girl had her graduation works on an old Greece jewelry set. She showed the original Greece jewelry set. and how she got ideas to change the prototype. Change once, change twice, change again.......till the final result = her works.

Fat Voodoo Doll

It's fatter than I expected. It looks more like Michelin Character. How come? Due to bad sleeping. I woke up hours earlier than usual. Since I could not fall asleep, I got up to get something done. I wanted to make a new stone wire wrapping. However, when my hands touched wires, I got this voodoo doll out first.

You can say such kind of creation a whatever doll. But at the beginning, it is created as a voodoo doll. See, it has seam on it.

Random wirework

It's a random wirework.
I read 2 long novels during the past week, which are both attractive. When the mind is occupied by something, it's really hard to have some creative thoughts.

I have an idea of making a  fish, and this random wirework is the side product in the process.

Sometimes, in order to keep posting, it's easier to post a small piece, especially those without a name.

New wiring soap holder

I usually have 2 or 3 handmade soaps in the bathroom, so it's better to have one more soap holder.

Sometimes I just want to try another new soap, even the old ones are not yet finished. Handmade soaps are really good to skin. The soaps help me prevent skin problems over the years. If you are new to handmade soaps and having skin problems, I do recommend you to give it a try. Sometimes, the skins problems is from the chemistry. Natural stuff can reduce the chemical problems.

A wood soap holder would mildew in wet air over time, while a craft soap holder being steady.

The weaving needs patience. I lose my patience somehow when hammering the ends. I hammered my finger once.

Another kind of petal

I went to see an exhibition: The New Italian Design.

I cannot show you what I saw in the exhibition. Taking photos is usually not allowed in such occasions.

One of the messages I got is "Design is mass appeal." in recent years.

Clear shapes, or lines and few colors all make a great Italian style design.

Most of the items are furniture or household items. Some of the items are really creatively practical. There is a strange bicycle with one big wheel and one very small wheel in the exhibition. No touch. Of course. I do hope to be able to ride on such a vehicle. How would this kind of bicycle work? Is it easy to ride? Is it efficient?

Today, it's the wire flower with jagged petals. In the nature, jagged flowers are popular. The nature is just amazing.

Wire Christmas Wreath

It's just autumn. Christmas is still far away.
Today I made this wire Christmas wreath, because of yesterday's wreath. When an idea can be carried out, just make it out as soon as possible. No procrastination.

Time really flies, the weekend is near. I have been working on bag projects during these weeks. It will come out soon.

A showing post has its own value, just like people go to museums or exhibitions to see wonderful crafts or painting or other things. Feel good or get relaxed or get inspired by seeing other people's work. But no copy.

Yesterday, I said that I do not like to deal with the ends. I do think it is necessary to use as few as possible, which is about the number of wires, not the length. A wire end is usually a weak part in a craft or jewelry.

This wreath is cute to decorate a Christmas tree. The size is not the problem. Make a larger or smaller one to fit a tree.

The wreath is made of one piece of wire. Yes, one is enough. I do not like to deal with wire ends so that I reduce the number of pieces used in projects.

The size: 3cm.

It is a good ideal to make a green one for Christmas.

Wire Harp

I played an online game and it required to ask for Irish harps to complete a goal. So, I made the wire harp. I thought I can employ an new wire weaving technique to make this harp. But after the weekend, I made this harp first.

I took a photo to show the top, but it looks vague. And I do not want to take photos again.

Materials:

1. 18 gauge wire about 50 cm
2. 28 gauge wire about 100 cm
3. seed beads

Making time: about half an hour

Egg-shaped wire bag

I drew a draft for egg-shaped wire bag months ago. I think the shape of an egg are stylish. Finally, I made the first egg-shaped bag out. From idea to draft to forming to end result, it does take long time sometimes.

The handle are 3-braids. If I make next egg-shaped bag in this style, I will improve some places.

I bought some materials cheap from an old grocery store last month. Because they are stocks for many years. The materials are more elastic than what I am used to. And the prices of metals rise in recent years. With cheap materials, I can avoid being stressed when making crafts that need long length of wires. If you find some metal wires cheap stocks, take the chance.
