Fruity

The fruity was made at a hot summer night with a random thought.

Small crafts are always much easy to make. It won't take much time and thoughts.

Colorful stones get together to make a festival feeling.

You see a wire loop from the shadow.

The small bulbs

In my first thoughts on this small craft, it should be colorful. At last, there are only two colors. I thought the two colors go well along and adding other colors would not be better.

I broke my tripod by accident. I learned a lesson: Don't do something odd which is of nothing good.

Recently, I took photos by hand. So sometimes the photos may be a little bit blurred.

Double jump ring is more than twice as strong as jump ring

Why is double jump ring more than twice as strong as single jump ring?

Ans:
There is an anti-force occurring when pulling the double jump ring on both sides. If pulling a single jump ring, the ring will destroy from the open part when the force is strong enough.

The Shell Bead Dropping

This dropping is transformed from an old shell bead necklace. The shell beads look like new without special care.

Transforming things you already owned is fun. No matter what it is. If you have something you don't use for years, you can try to transform it into some other thing.

The copper wire used here is 24 gauge.

The wire dog

"If you want to make an idea into a real thing, set everything else aside and focus on that."

After postponing some time, I decided to make it out the day before. Put other things aside and form this wire dog.

It's not the same in my imagination.
The dog I want should be other kind.
I think one of the problem is the big eyes.

Wire Christmas Wreath

It's just autumn. Christmas is still far away.
Today I made this wire Christmas wreath, because of yesterday's wreath. When an idea can be carried out, just make it out as soon as possible. No procrastination.

Time really flies, the weekend is near. I have been working on bag projects during these weeks. It will come out soon.

A showing post has its own value, just like people go to museums or exhibitions to see wonderful crafts or painting or other things. Feel good or get relaxed or get inspired by seeing other people's work. But no copy.

Yesterday, I said that I do not like to deal with the ends. I do think it is necessary to use as few as possible, which is about the number of wires, not the length. A wire end is usually a weak part in a craft or jewelry.

This wreath is cute to decorate a Christmas tree. The size is not the problem. Make a larger or smaller one to fit a tree.

Wreath

The wreath is made of one piece of wire. Yes, one is enough. I do not like to deal with wire ends so that I reduce the number of pieces used in projects.

The size: 3cm.

It is a good ideal to make a green one for Christmas.

Wire Twisted Star

The star is made of pink and red 18 gauge twisted wires.

In my opinion, the curve looks good, but the ends of wires can be made better.

I am loving reading on kindle and this made me distracted. I just feel like reading novels. My keyboard had a problem today and it took me about one hour to fix.

I took some photos of the star, but finally only one is clear. So, there is only one photo on this post.

Wire Harp

wire harp

wire harp
I played an online game and it required to ask for Irish harps to complete a goal. So, I made the wire harp. I thought I can employ an new wire weaving technique to make this harp. But after the weekend, I made this harp first.

I took a photo to show the top, but it looks vague. And I do not want to take photos again.

Materials:

  1. 18 gauge wire about 50 cm
  2. 28 gauge wire about 100 cm
  3. seed beads
Making time: about half an hour

The old glass bead

The glass bead is more than 10 years old since I received it. It might not qualify of "vintage". But it's old-fashioned. It's a gift, so that I can not determine the actual details. The gift was a glass-bead bracelet. I took glass beads apart and transformed them into my handmade craft.

The old glass bead looks good, combining the old fashioned glass bead.

I am testing that not taking time to minimize the photos sizes. Maybe bigger photo sizes will do some hurt to the site. And I know some sites minimize photo sizes because of not wanting to show the very details. However, simplifying the process of photo editing will save me time. Time itself is an advantage.

Egg-shaped wire bag

I drew a draft for egg-shaped wire bag months ago. I think the shape of an egg are stylish. Finally, I made the first egg-shaped bag out. From idea to draft to forming to end result, it does take long time sometimes.

The handle are 3-braids. If I make next egg-shaped bag in this style, I will improve some places.

I bought some materials cheap from an old grocery store last month. Because they are stocks for many years. The materials are more elastic than what I am used to. And the prices of metals rise in recent years. With cheap materials, I can avoid being stressed when making crafts that need long length of wires. If you find some metal wires cheap stocks, take the chance.

Materials for the egg-shaped bag:

  • 22 gauge about 160 cm

Wire Moon

The wire moon includes the crescent and full moon.

The simple style is creating the moon shape solely with wire. Some colorful beads add various feeling onto the moon.

I just put beads on the moon shape to know the feeling, not yet binding them.

The moon frame includes a loop, so the chain can go through it without using another jump ring. Sometimes I do like to make a loop in the frame itself.

The copper wire flower with seed beadsThe copper wire flower with seed beads

The making is not difficult but it takes some time. The total making time is about 30 minute.

Materials of the copper  flower with seed beads:
1. 22 gauge copper * about 50 cm
2. some seed beads

Both sides of the copper flower are good to show.

Its size: 2.3 cm * 2 cm

I wrapped it freely after the basic flower frame was made. I like freestyle making, because there is no need to worry about shaping, and any longer or shorter is another style. It is a strong type of crafts.

The wiring coiling pendant

Here's another simple wire jewelry creation. It's a 2 wiring coiling pendant, made of only wires.

As you can see, it's not hard to make. Most of it is coiling.

The simplicity has its own beauty. So I stop here, not adding other beads or elements.

Materials for this coiling pendant:
1. 18 gauge silver about 6".
2. 18 gauge blue  about 6".

Making time: about 10 minutes

I created many crafts with 18 gauge wires, so it's quite natural that I am really familiar with and good at this kind of wire. Anyone can have the same result. As the old saying goes:"Practice makes perfect."

The small wire spider web

Calling it a small spider web is because the outside diameter is just about 2 cm.

Material:
1. 18g * 10 cm approx.
2. 28g * 35 cm approx.

Because it's not big, making time is short. This small wire web can be a charm, pendant, dangle.

Keep using out more wire. The things you buy  provide values only when you using them.

This is a simple craft. Sometimes it's not the question of easy or hard, simple or complicated, it's about carrying out whatever in your mind, so you can go further.
