Weaving Open Ring

Hi, this week is another open ring, combining one weaving skill.
I think open rings of this kind is really comfortable to wear. That's the major reason why I post open ring again.

Whenever posting on weekends, either I do not have ideas to make one out, or I'm occupied.

The shorter ring in the photo, it's just because the length of wire was not enough. So, longer is always better than shorter. Even sometimes it means some waste.

Taking photos of a whole hand looks a bit strange, so I used my forefinger to hold the ring.

Material: 20 gauge copper wire.

Simple Open Ring

Yet another open ring.

The simple open ring is consisted a piece of wire and three crystal beads. Simple but still styled. The total making time can be within 5 minutes. It's 18 gauge and comfortable for wearing.

Actually I thought several ways to form different open rings the last two weeks. Some ideas are good in mind but not realistic I knew it when practicing.

Open Ring

Open ring have the ability of easy adjustment. You don't have to worry about if the size fits.

It's another one-piece-of-wire ring.
I'm tired and out of words.

Double Ring

Ideas come suddenly.
So, this simple double ring is born in short time.

When you have an idea and you have the time and passion to make it out, which combined is  the best.

The last week was really hot and busy. I washed and cleaned an old fan. Again, I'm amazed that old things last long. The old things are out of styled, but are so practical and solid.

Seed bead ring

Longer is better than shorter.
One of the rings is short of wire. If you don't look carefully, you may not find it.

Materials:
1. 9/0 seed beads
2. 26 gauge copper wire

The little crystal rocks ring

I prolonged some ideas of wire stuff. It's because that I was busy in learning Javascript and Jquery programming again this week. I have learnt about 3 years ago, but forgot most of what I've learnt. Time to repolish and to step further.

The little crystal rocks ring note:

  1. The little crystal rocks can also have their own beauty and style, even thought they're much more humble, comparing to bigger, prettier beads.
  2. The total length used is about 50 cm for making. 10 cm would be cut off at finishing so that the actual length is 40 cm.
  3. Half of the making is with the wooden ring stick. The reason is for keeping the shape and handling the pattern.
  4. This is another one-piece-of-wire ring. Sometimes, insisting of one-piece-of-wire causes headache.

Red and Pink twisted wire ring

The concept of this ring is hiding the ends of wire and as simple as possible.

The red and pink twisted wire ring only has the wires twisted, and that's all. There is no need to make a loop or to coiling or wrapping.

Note:
The ends of wire are ended in different places so that this ring is holding the shape better. It's just like hooking each other. The ends end by following the shape.

Gemstone style wire weaving ring

Do you like this kind of wire weaving?
I call it gemstone style wire weaving. Because it has cuts as like gemstones.

I love to weave wires. However, if doing much weaving, my fingers will getting sore. If my fingers got sore seriously, I have to rest for some days. That's an occasion that should be avoided. That's one of the major reasons of why I seldom make multiple ones with other colors or changing a bit in one design.

The old glass bead

The glass bead is more than 10 years old since I received it. It might not qualify of "vintage". But it's old-fashioned. It's a gift, so that I can not determine the actual details. The gift was a glass-bead bracelet. I took glass beads apart and transformed them into my handmade craft.

The old glass bead looks good, combining the old fashioned glass bead.

I am testing that not taking time to minimize the photos sizes. Maybe bigger photo sizes will do some hurt to the site. And I know some sites minimize photo sizes because of not wanting to show the very details. However, simplifying the process of photo editing will save me time. Time itself is an advantage.

Simple beaded wire ring

Materials of this simple style ring
  1. 22 gauge about 20cm
  2. 4 mm crystal beads * 4pcs
  3. 6 mm natural stone bead
Actually, this kind of simple ring can have quite different feelings, just by changing the beads. 22 gauge wire can go through even most of 3mm beads and seed beads. That means many kinds of options to apply to the pattern.

Simple wire necklace

I have no idea how to call this wire necklace.
I wanted to make a bracelet that has sit in my head for some time.
But while making it, I did not spare enough spaces as I did similar one before. So it turned into a like-ring pendant.

Since it has a sense of simplicity, I just call it a simple necklace.

Wanting to give every craft a name is hard sometimes, unless you have a clear thought on a specific craft. For many little stuff, just make them and show them without thinking about names is much simpler.

Simple is cool in some ways.

Wire weaving ring necklace

I have no idea what to call this ring, it's just another wire weaving ring. It took some time to recall the method.

The wire weaving ring is small because I wanted it as a ring necklace at first. It can only fit my little finger. I thought this kind of weaving is not suitable for fingers or bracelet, but when I put in on it's not that uncomfortable as I thought. If using thinner wire, this ring will be more comfortable.

One of all the wire weaving features is solid. Some specific wire weaving is better used thinner wire, while the other do not have to be. But at least half hard is necessary.

Wire Jewelry: petals flower ring

This is another petals flower design.
The flower petals are smaller.
At first, I drew a six-petal flower ring as draft. However, the outcome is usually different from the image in mind.
If using only one or two petals, it's also like "leaf", especially in green-colored wire.
"Leaf" is also a common element in crafts.

Wire flower and pearl

This pearl here used is natural pearl and like egg-shape, not round.
The petals are of different sizes.
Actually by same method, you can make petals of sames sized, such as to make a wire camellia. All you need is to make more flower petals.
